Exclusive: Everton Identify £40m Striker as ‘Dream Summer Signing’

Everton have earmarked Tottenham Hotspur star Richarlison as their first-choice forward target for the fast-approaching summer transfer window as they prepare to move from Goodison Park to their new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock ahead of next season, GIVEMESPORT sources have revealed.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin remains on course to leave the Toffees as a free agent in the coming months, thanks to his £100,000-per-week contract being due to expire at the end of June, and that has resulted in boss David Moyes being determined to secure additional firepower when the opportunity arises.

The Friedkin Group have been making alterations behind the scenes ahead of Everton leaving their historic home, with Angus Kinnear set to become the Merseyside giants’ new chief executive, but plans have also been put in place to make adjustments on the pitch before the 2025/26 campaign gets underway.

Toffees Seriously Consider Richarlison Swoop

Striker higher in Merseyside giants’ thinking than other targets

Everton have identified Richarlison as their dream summer signing, according to GMS sources, after ongoing uncertainty over Calvert-Lewin’s long-term future has led to members of the recruitment department being tasked with searching for a new first-choice marksman to spearhead their attack at the new stadium.

The Toffees allowed the Brazil international to join domestic counterparts Tottenham in July 2022, when they accepted a £60million bid due to fears of breaching the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules, but he has fallen down the pecking order in north London and may be given the green-light to embark on a fresh challenge.

GMS sources have been informed that Everton are seriously contemplating whether to up the ante in their pursuit by lodging a formal bid for Richarlison, who enjoyed a productive initial spell at Goodison Park, and he is higher in their thinking than other options that have been pinpointed.

Tottenham are not under immediate pressure to sell the striker, thanks to there still being two years remaining on a contract which allows him to pocket up to £130,000-per-week when bonuses are triggered, but the Toffees may test their resolve due to Dominic Solanke hampering his chances of securing regular game time in his current surroundings.

Everton want the upcoming transfer window to shape their long-term future as well as give them immediate stability after being forced to battle for their top flight status in previous campaigns, GMS sources have learned, and Richarlison is being eyed as a primary target behind the scenes.

Moyes Aiming for Cut-Price Richarlison Deal

Current employers would make considerable loss on 27-year-old

GMS sources have been told that Everton are increasingly confident that they will be able to land Richarlison for less than £40million in the summer, even though that would result in Tottenham making a significant loss on their investment, and they are keeping tabs on his situation in the final weeks of the campaign.

The 27-year-old, who has been described as ‘fantastic’ by Calvert-Lewin, would provide the likes of Beto with fresh competition for a regular starting berth if he completes a return to the Toffees as Moyes prepares for the first full season of his second spell in the Merseyside outfit’s hot-seat.

Although Everton have also shortlisted Monaco marksman Mika Biereth along with Evan Ferguson and Albert Gudmundsson, currently on loan at West Ham United and Fiorentina respectively, GMS sources understand that Richarlison is the attacker they are most keen to recruit in the coming months.

GMS sources recently revealed that the Toffees could make a cut-price bid in the region of £30million for the former Watford man and there is hope that he would be interested in becoming a marquee signing as they prepare for life at their new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock.
